Because We Said We Would

A dynamic, working-class tale of friendship and music, spanning decades of love, loss, and loyalty, with a mixture of humour and heart.

Set in a “whiteboard world” where scenes and characters are literally drawn as the story unfolds. Follow Jeanie and Tam from age seven as they bond over Queen and cassette tapes. They make a pact to meet every five years in the same place. Their journey spans changing music scenes, schoolyard taunts, and dreams of rock stardom, evolving into a complicated lifelong connection.
