A group of 16 independent Lace Market based creatives met together to ask... "What was going on?" What happens next?" and "How can we get involved?" With such sums of money having been secured we thought it sensible to ask and understand at a grassroots level "What barriers there were to business currently in the area?" along with questioning "How much money is there?" It was a call for transparency in the process of allocating and spending the funds awarded to this new formally presented initiative The Creative Quarter. 16th December 2012 Rikki Marr held the first open meeting as CreativeQuarter ambassador welcoming 45 curious 'quantifiers". 1 February 2013 LaceMarket Open Link was formed, (holding it's first meeting @thelacehouse) to act as a reception forum to the projects and initiatives emerging within Nottingham's LaceMarket to provide awareness and information to residents businesses.
